Digital India, Digital Indore

An initiative by the Government of India, Digital India was introduced to ensure that all the services of Government of India were available to citizens electronically. The main aim behind Digital India was to make all the programs and facilities initiated globally accessible. The focus is also on developing an online infrastructure that enhances internet connectivity.

Through this campaign, the rural areas will get high internet networks and will be able to stay connected with the rest of the nation. The entire project was officially launched on July 1, 2015. Digital India covers the following three components mainly:

1. The creation of a sound digital infrastructure
2. Delivering services digitally
3. Digital literacy

The notion behind Digital India can be summed up as, “A nation that is technically ahead stays ahead.” But no campaign would be successful if the contributions made are not all inclusive. Though the initiative is inter-ministerial, every citizen should also contribute at his or her own level. Being a leader and a part of system, Nanuram Kumawat believes that one should work along the government to let the nation grow. It’s a two way road to the destination. He supports a paperless work culture that is not only digitally strong but also environment friendly. Moreover, keeping up with the generation and its pace of growth, Nanuram Kumawat is not only technically aware but also updated. He is active on all the social mediums and stays connected with people through Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. He believes in the power of digitization. He believes that it’s only through proper use of technique that a person can process a effective change. Nanuram Kumawat wants to contribute in building a city and a nation that stays connected virtually to grow technically. Indore has also become a part of this journey after taking over the baton. Facilities like complete wifi availability and handling of grievances online assure strong and responsible system.  MPs and MLAs are also interacting with public through social media. According to Nanuram Kumawat, Every single person of the country deserves digital literacy to make a digitally empowered nation. Remember, the more we capitalize the boon of Internet, the lesser we will be affected by its bane.

HelpAge India

A nation is known by the way it treats its kids, youth and most importantly, elder folks. Elders are to a nation’s population what roots are to a tree. One needs to stay connected with them in order to ensure consistent growth. But as nuclear families became popular, the old age culture saw a disheartening change.  This led to formation of HelpAge India. This secular, non-profit, apolitical and non-government organization is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The mission of the organization is to help the elderly and work for the care of disadvantaged elderly people.

HelpAge India has decided and fixed areas of working which are as follows:

1. Elderly Rights: To fight against elder abuse in India, keep a check on reverse mortgages, forming a Senior Citizen Association (SCA), providing Health Insurance, fight for their Health Insurance, Parents Maintenance Act, and Union Budget Allocation.

2. Eldercare: They try to provide and make available all kinds of health care facilities. Provide social protection, shelter homes, specialized care, helping the ones who have suffered in a disaster and providing a new home to the isolated.

3. Supporters: Apart from this, the organization also provides other monetary and non-monetary facilities. Providing individual volunteers, associating corporate and business houses, becoming a part of trusts and foundations and helping through bi-lateral or multi-lateral funding.

Nanuram Kumawat though not being a core part of this organization carries its emotion perfectly. He has been part of camps and activities that provide health facilities and other assistance to the elderly. He believes that it is their blessing and guidance that is needed for growth. Experience is equally important and all the three generations need to work in association towards a better future. Through eye donation camps, he has helped a lot of old age people with their eyesight. Nanuram Kumawat knows how important senior citizens are to the nation and hence keen attention should be paid to their health and lifestyle.

Woman and Their Empowerment: A Dream Awaiting Decisions

Woman, this single word will generate multiple thoughts in the mind of readers. The thoughts are nothing but a reflection of your perception about them. How many of you had empowerment in mind? The number is almost negligible.  This is what led to revolution in these regards. Women have been referred to as the second sex since time immemorial and that seems the root of the entire problem. Every single decade had witnessed a revolution that was centralized towards uplifting of women. And it was more out of necessity rather than nature.

The problem has been that everything that existed as a natural phenomenon for a man had to be demanded by a woman. It’s not about providing extra privileges but bring all of them at par. Be it a man, woman or others in between. In the end, human rights should stand above the parameters of gender. The quest of women empowerment is equality and to bring fairness in the system and treat everyone in the same manner. Equal pay, equal right to vote, equal representation in the parliament, board room and defence services and equal opportunities are some of the causes that are covered.

Nanuram Kumawat has extensively worked towards the welfare of woman. He tries to give equal importance to woman in all the fields. Whether it is his personal life or professional, he believes that women are important to lead and drive a change. It is not about doing a favor rather giving what has been due for a long time. This is what Nanuram Kumawat’s team focuses on. Let’s work towards a nation that not only respects women but is represented by them too. Remember, when you empower a man, you only empower him and his surroundings. But when you empower a woman, you empower generations that will follow.

Listen to What Missile Man Says and Think Upon It. Act Wise for a Wiser Country

I once stumbled upon a speech by the great scientist and our former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. It was his letter to every Indian. And this piece of text makes utmost sense. I share it here so that it reaches more people. The letter is bound to leave you wondering and think about your behavior towards India. As a leader, I would like to imbibe all the views and reform myself. Here it is represented to you without any additions further. Do read and learn.

Dr. Abdul Kalam's Letter to Every Indian - Dated - 12/03/2014
Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?
We are such a Great NATION.
We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transformed the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit..
There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed with the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.
Why are we so NEGATIVE?
Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things?
We want foreign T.Vs,
We want foreign shirts.
We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported?
Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance?
I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is..
She replied: I want to live in a developed India.
For her, you and I will have to build this developed India.
You must proclaim.
India is not an under-developed nation;
it is a highly developed nation...
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.
YOU say, say and say..
What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore.
Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best.
In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores.
YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are.. You pay $5 (approx. Rs.. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM.
YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity…
In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU?
YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai ..
YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.
YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs..650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.
YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.'
YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand ..
Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo?
Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ???
We are still talking of the same YOU.
YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own.
YOU who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground.
If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country,
Why cannot you be the same here in India ?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan ..
Will the Indian citizen do that here?
We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.
We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative.
We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin.
We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity. This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.
When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child and others what do we do?
We make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home.
OUR EXCUSE?
'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.'
So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of?
Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbors, other households, other cities, other communities and the government.
But definitely not ME & YOU.
When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.CLEAN to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government.
Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country.
Nobody thinks of feeding the system.
Our conscience is mortgaged to money.”
This article shall provoke your conscience as soon as you finish it. Stop asking what the country can do for you. Do something for it for a change. Blaming is easy, bullying is easier but being responsible requires tough commitment. Learn and act, you have it in your own what is required to make a country successful and developed.

I, Nanuram Kumawat, would request you to pledge with me that we will first be a responsible citizen and then ask the country to do something.
